Your gear shouldn't hold you back from enjoying a cozy day or a great adventure. That's why we created THERMOLITE® technology — lightweight, hollow-core fibers and insulations that add bulk-free warmth to apparel and gear of all kinds.
Whether it's a cold snap during a backpacking trip, a chilly night under the stars, or a cool afternoon on the golf course, there's a THERMOLITE® product to keep you comfortable.
THERMOLITE® technology comes in two forms:
A fiber, which can be knit or woven into shirts, pants, socks, long underwear, and other close-to-body garments for warmth without weight
An insulation, which can be added to jackets, snow pants, sleeping bags, gloves, footwear, and other gear that demands warmth without bulk
Many THERMOLITE® products, including THERMOLITE® EcoMade fiber and insulation, are made with recycled polyester, making use of waste that would otherwise end up in the landfill.
HOW THERMOLITE® TECHNOLOGY WORKS: THE SCIENCE OF LIGHTWEIGHT WARMTH
The magic of THERMOLITE® technology lies in its engineering. It's a round, hollow-core fiber that traps warm air and keeps it close to the body, so it doesn't take a lot of weighty yarn or dense insulation to keep you warm. Unlike traditional insulations such as down, which relies on density and loft for warmth, THERMOLITE® technology makes use of your own body heat to keep you toasty without weighing you down — the way smart gear should.

THERMOLITE® TECHNOLOGY AND SUSTAINABILITY: RECYCLED WARMTH
The best materials aren’t always the newest ones. That's why The LYCRA Company has transformed more than 80% of THERMOLITE® brand products into more sustainable versions — delivering the same lightweight warmth you expect, made from recycled resources instead of fossil-based materials.
Find recycled polyester in these THERMOLITE® fibers and insulations:
THERMOLITE® EcoMade fiber is a more sustainable polyester fiber made from 100% pre-consumer textile waste or 100% recycled plastic bottles, designed to deliver permanent lightweight warmth across apparel and accessories
THERMOLITE® EcoMade insulation is available in thin-loft and mid-loft battings (i.e. plush fillings) and contains at least 85% recycled fibers, ideal for jackets, sleeping bags, and outdoor gear
THERMOLITE® T-DOWN EcoMade insulation is a 500-fill power insulation made from 100% recycled PET bottles
THERMOLITE® ALL SEASON fiber is a year-round comfort fiber, made from at least 95% post-consumer recycled polyester. It delivers cooling and sweat-wicking when it's hot and lightweight warmth when it's cool
THERMOLITE® T3 insulation is crafted with between 35 and 85% recycled polyester from PET bottles and textile waste and delivers durable, high-performance warmth
All THERMOLITE® brand products made with recycled materials are third-party certified. Products made with recycled bottles are GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified, and those made with recycled textile waste are RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) certified, so you can trust the sustainability claim on the hang tag. Using recycled textile waste as an input supports the circular economy by reducing the need for fossil-based materials and helping to lower the environmental impact of synthetic fiber production.
HOW TO CARE FOR THERMOLITE® TECHNOLOGY
Caring for products made with THERMOLITE® technology is generally simple. Because the warmth is engineered into the fiber or insulation itself, the performance benefits are permanent and won't wash out. Refer to your item's care instructions for specific guidelines (especially when washing things like coats and sleeping bags).
Machine wash cold — a cold-water cycle is all it takes
Skip the fabric softener — it can coat the fibers and reduce their insulating performance
Avoid bleach — it can degrade the fibers over time
Tumble dry low, or air dry for best longevity
Wash colors separately to keep garments looking their best
Simple care, lasting warmth — wear it, wash it, and get back out there.
